TotalEnergies Sells its GreenFlex Affiliate to the French Group Oteis to Create a Leading Player in Sustainable Consultancy and Solutions
TotalEnergies has signed an agreement with the independent French consulting and engineering firm Oteis for the sale of its sustainable consultancy and solutions subsidiary, GreenFlex. The divestment aligns with TotalEnergies’ strategic focus on strengthening its core activities in energy production and supply.
Oteis Conseil & Ingénierie, which employs over 800 people across roughly 30 offices in France and Europe, operates in multiple sectors including construction, water and development, infrastructure, and industry. The group has demonstrated a strong capacity to integrate new teams and develop their expertise following acquisitions such as this, fueling consistent growth in recent years.
Through this acquisition, Oteis plans to leverage GreenFlex’s capabilities in environmental and social consulting, low-carbon energy performance, and transition financing to create a leading player offering comprehensive sustainability solutions across its markets.
For GreenFlex’s teams, the move provides an opportunity to access new markets while continuing their mission of supporting companies and communities in achieving sustainability, decarbonization, and greater energy efficiency.
After the sale, TotalEnergies will remain one of GreenFlex’s key clients, signing a contract for the production of French Energy Saving Certificates (CEEs).
The completion of the transaction remains subject to customary conditions, including consultation with employee representatives and approval by competition authorities.
