SLB OneSubsea signs agreement with Vår Energi for upcoming subsea developments in Norway

SLB has announced a new agreement between its OneSubsea™ joint venture and Vår Energi for a significant subsea production systems (SPS) work scope. This award builds on the existing strategic subsea partnership between the two companies, focusing on standardized subsea equipment to support multiple oil and gas developments on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).

As part of the SPS pre-commitment program, work begins immediately on delivering two equipment packages. The first package includes a complete SPS system, featuring four vertical subsea trees, wellheads, templates, manifolds, umbilicals, and all other associated equipment. Once delivered, this system can be rapidly deployed by Vår Energi across its portfolio. The second package covers the engineering and procurement of all components for another similar SPS system, ensuring shorter lead times for future project developments.

"Simplification is key to unlocking more resources, faster, and this novel approach stems from Vår Energi’s long-term commitment to our standard, configurable solutions," said Mads Hjelmeland, CEO of SLB OneSubsea. "This marks a significant step forward in our partnership, and we appreciate the open, collaborative relationship with Vår Energi that continues to drive new ways of creating value for both companies."

The two four-well equipment packages leverage SLB OneSubsea’s standardized and configurable subsea platform, allowing Vår Energi to accelerate project timelines on the NCS. This approach significantly reduces the time from final investment decisions to delivery, enhancing efficiency across Vår Energi’s project pipeline.
