SLB awarded multi-region deepwater contracts by Shell to support capital-efficient energy development
Global energy technology firm SLB has secured several significant drilling contracts from Shell to advance cost-efficient energy development across its deepwater and ultra-deepwater assets in regions such as the UK North Sea, Trinidad and Tobago, the Gulf of Mexico, and more.
Spanning a three-year period, the projects will leverage SLB’s AI-powered digital drilling solutions and its extensive experience in ultra-deepwater operations. This combination aims to consistently deliver higher-quality wells while optimizing costs.
“We are honored to strengthen our long-standing partnership with Shell through the execution of these multi-region deepwater contracts,” stated Wallace Pescarini, president of Offshore Atlantic at SLB. “Over the years, we’ve focused on delivering safe and high-quality services to clients like Shell. Utilizing our global expertise in complex deepwater environments and cutting-edge technology, we will meet Shell’s goals for secure and efficient energy development in these projects.”
The contracts encompass a broad range of services, including digital directional drilling tools and technology, logging while drilling (LWD), surface logging, cementing, drilling and completion fluids, completions, and wireline services.
SLB has already commenced service delivery for these contracts, with centralized project management handled through its Performance Live™ centers.
