Rosneft and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) develop cooperation in the social sphere
Rosneft and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have signed an agreement to finance the construction of a cultural center in the region. The agreement was formalized by Igor Sechin, the Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, and Aysen Nikolaev, the Head of the Republic of Sakha.
As part of this collaboration, a Multifunctional Cultural Center will be developed in the village of Tas-Yuryakh, located in the Mirny District, funded by Rosneft. The center will include various facilities such as a village culture center, library, post office, assembly hall, and gymnasium.
In 2023, Taas-Yuryakh Neftegazodobycha, a subsidiary of Rosneft, supported the creation of a Growth Point center aimed at providing industry-specific and digital education at the Tas-Yuryakh village school. This initiative involved renovating classrooms for robotics, 3D modeling, and establishing a school press center, along with setting up a TV studio, language laboratory, and local history museum featuring educational exhibitions.
Rosneft is committed to supporting educational, social, cultural, and enlightenment initiatives in the Republic. Under a Cooperation Agreement signed with the regional government in 2015, the company has implemented significant joint projects.
In 2022, marking the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Sakha, Rosneft inaugurated the Small Academy of Sciences in Chapaevo village, Khangalassky District. This facility serves as a hub for research and project activities for schoolchildren across the Far Eastern region, accommodating students from both urban and remote areas within a new 7,000 m² building that operates under the model of the Sirius Educational Center.
Additionally, in 2023, Rosneft allocated funds to establish a Full Cycle Oil and Gas Process Factory training center at the Regional Technical College in Mirny, with plans for the center to open later this year.
