Plug and Allied Green Execute Binding Framework Agreement for 3 GW Electrolyzer Capacity

Plug Power Inc., a leading player in green hydrogen solutions, has entered into a binding framework agreement with Australian-based Allied Green Ammonia (AGA) for the supply of three gigawatts (GW) of electrolyzer capacity for AGA’s green hydrogen-to-ammonia facility in Australia. This agreement builds on a previously signed memorandum of understanding (MOU) and a basic engineering and design package (BEDP). Both parties will now work towards finalizing the sales and purchase agreement.

The partnership aims to create one of the largest green ammonia production plants globally, expected to begin using Plug’s electrolyzers by late 2026 or early 2027. Located in Gove Peninsula, Northern Territory, the plant will produce around 2,700 metric tons of green ammonia daily, supplying customers in Asia and Europe.

The project will replace conventional ammonia production methods with eco-friendly hydrogen electrolysis, significantly reducing carbon emissions. Plug Power’s cutting-edge PEM electrolyzer technology, combined with AGA’s expertise, will make green ammonia production more sustainable and cost-competitive. The finalization of this supply agreement will be a key step toward AGA's investment decision, expected soon.
