PETRONAS Extends Support to Those Affected by Gas Pipeline Incident

PETRONAS extends its deepest sympathies to all individuals and families affected by the gas pipeline explosion that occurred today in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya.

Our top priorities in the aftermath of this tragic incident are to safeguard the well-being of the public, support those impacted, and ensure the continued security of gas supply as we carry out a thorough investigation into the cause.

PETRONAS Gas Berhad (PGB), our public-listed subsidiary and owner of the affected pipeline, is working closely with government authorities and relevant agencies to assess the full extent of the incident. Concurrently, PETRONAS is taking proactive steps to secure gas supply, minimise disruptions, and implement contingency measures to restore operations safely and efficiently.

As highlighted by the Prime Minister during his site visit, PETRONAS will actively collaborate with key ministries, as well as state and federal agencies, to coordinate comprehensive relief efforts and provide meaningful assistance to those affected during this difficult time.

We remain committed to working closely with all stakeholders to ensure timely and effective support is delivered to impacted families and communities.

We also confirm that the three PETRONAS stations in the vicinity—PS Putra Heights, PS KM2 LDP, and PS Putra Bestari—have resumed operations following clearance from the relevant authorities. Although these stations were not directly affected, they were temporarily closed as a precaution in accordance with our safety protocols, and reopened only after completing thorough safety evaluations.
