Petrofac strengthens position in Equatorial Guinea supporting Marathon Oil with Master Service Agreement
Petrofac has announced continued expansion in Africa through the awarding of a new Master Service Agreement (MSA) to support Marathon Oil in Equatorial Guinea.
Under the agreement, Petrofac will deliver technical authority and discipline engineering support, focusing on operational excellence, integrity, and safety. This support will extend to key onshore and offshore assets, including five offshore steel jacket facilities in the Alba Field and the Alba Gas Plant onshore.
This new MSA reinforces Petrofac's strong relationship and proven track record with Marathon Oil, having previously offered engineering, construction, operations, and maintenance services for their Brae assets in the North Sea.
Alex Macdonald, Managing Director – Europe, Middle East, and Africa for Asset Solutions, commented:
“This award is testament to our growing reputation in the region as a safe and efficient service provider, delivering value for our clients. Africa is a key focus area for our business - we look forward to building our relationship with Marathon Oil, supporting its assets in Equatorial Guinea.”
Africa is a critical area of focus for Petrofac's Asset Solutions business. With established operations in Ivory Coast, Ghana, Senegal, and Mauritania, the expansion into Equatorial Guinea follows the recent award of a Technical Services Contract by Compañía Nacional de Petróleos de Guinea Ecuatorial (GEPetrol), the national oil company of Equatorial Guinea.
