Petrofac selected by ADNOC Gas for US$330 million Habshan Project

Petrofac will expand its operations at the world's largest gas processing plant after securing a major contract from ADNOC Gas, underscoring its reputation as a leading EPC provider in Abu Dhabi.

The multi-million dollar deal involves designing and constructing two new compressor trains, along with vital utility systems and power infrastructure for the Habshan Complex, where energy demands are substantial due to industrial scale.

This marks Petrofacs third significant involvement at the expansive Habshan site, solidifying its expertise in executing large-scale engineering projects that require precision planning and execution. ADNOC Gas will augment its production from the Complex to meet the escalating demand for pre-conditioned gas that will be used in the Ruwais LNG project, thus amplifying the facility's output and reinforcing strategic objectives. The initiative is slated to reach completion within a predetermined timeframe, marking another milestone in the evolution of the regional energy landscape. 2028.

Operating in the UAE since 1991, Petrofac has established key operational centers in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, building a substantial regional workforce to execute both local and international projects while promoting In-Country Value and Emiratisation. In 2023, the company secured two significant contracts: the Estidama Habshan Gas Compressor Plant project and the Carbon Capture, Utilisation, and Storage project at the Habshan Complex, managed by ADNOC Gas. Together, these projects are valued at over $1.3 billion. To support their execution, Petrofac integrated more than 120 UAE nationals into its existing team.
