McDermott Awarded Subsea Contract for Cronos Development in Cyprus

McDermott has secured a substantial* subsea contract from Eni Cyprus Limited (Eni) for the development of the Cronos gas field offshore Cyprus. The award marks McDermott’s first subsea project with Eni and strengthens its presence in the Eastern Mediterranean.


Under the contract, McDermott will provide project management, engineering, procurement and installation support for the Cronos gas field development.


"This award demonstrates the strength of McDermott's integrated subsea engineering, procurement, construction and installation capabilities and reflects the value we bring through our technical expertise and differentiated deepwater asset, the Amazon," said Mahesh Swaminathan, McDermott's Senior Vice President, Subsea and Floating Facilities. "Our global execution teams, supported by reliable local partnerships, will help advance the Cronos development safely and efficiently."


The project will be delivered by McDermott’s Subsea and Floating Facilities team, drawing on expertise and resources from its offices in Houston, Perth, London and Kuala Lumpur, with support from the company’s marine construction fleet.

*McDermott defines a substantial contract as between USD $500 million and USD $750 million.
