Maersk enters agreement to sell Maersk Training

Maersk has announced an agreement to sell Maersk Training and its subsidiary, Maersk H2S Safety Services, to Open Gate Capital, a specialist in industrial and corporate carve-outs. The transaction remains subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.

The sale reflects Maersk’s continued focus on developing its strategic brands while recognising the strong market positions established by Maersk Training and Maersk H2S Safety Services. Under Open Gate Capital’s ownership, the businesses are expected to be well positioned for further growth, with a dedicated focus on training, gas detection, safety, and workforce competency solutions.

For more than 40 years, Maersk Training has delivered specialised training, competency development and safety services across the energy, maritime, renewable energy and logistics sectors, helping customers strengthen operational risk management and improve workforce safety.

Until the transaction is completed, which is expected later in 2026, Maersk Training will continue operating as part of A.P. Moller - Maersk. Employees, customers, and partners can expect normal business operations to continue throughout the transition period.
