SLB and Azule Energy Scale Enterprise Digital Operations to Strengthen Energy Delivery in Angola
SLB has announced a three-year agreement with Azule Energy to extend and expand the use of its enterprise digital platform across Azule’s operations in Angola. The platform is designed to enhance execution consistency, speed up decision-making, and support reliable energy delivery across the company’s asset portfolio.
Azule Energy—a joint venture between bp and Eni, and the largest independent energy producer in Angola—manages some of the region’s most complex assets. This agreement builds on two years of successful use of the Delfi™ platform within Azule’s reservoir teams, where it has been applied to reservoir studies, modelling, simulation, and well planning. It also strengthens enterprise-wide digital integration by progressively linking reservoir workflows with broader operational data systems.
“Azule operates large, complex energy assets where execution reliability and consistency matter,” said ND Maduemezia, president, Europe and Africa, SLB. “This agreement expands the use of an enterprise digital platform that connects workflows and data, strengthening and accelerating decision-making and improving execution predictability in support of reliable energy delivery in Angola.”
The agreement marks a transition toward enterprise-scale digital operations, powered by SLB’s digital platform and cloud-based capabilities. Implementation is supported by the SLB Luanda Performance Center, enabling solutions to be deployed and maintained locally in Angola.
The platform enhances key workflows across Azule Energy’s reservoir and planning activities, while progressively integrating with broader operational data systems. It also positions the company to quickly adopt emerging digital and AI-driven technologies, supporting ongoing performance improvements.
Initial deployments have already shown strong results. Integrated workflows—such as the DrillPlan™ well planning and engineering solution—have reduced planning cycles from days to just hours, while increasing automation and reducing the need for manual coordination.
Overall, the enterprise platform strengthens execution consistency across Azule’s extensive and mature operations, where maintaining operational discipline is key to sustaining long-term performance.
