Jacobs Appointed to Plan and Design Northern Ireland Water’s Assets
Jacobs has been selected by Northern Ireland Water for a new professional services framework to support water and wastewater capital improvements throughout Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland Water provides essential water and sewerage services to around 840,000 households and businesses across the region.
Under this framework, Jacobs will assist Northern Ireland Water in completing its six-year Business Plan, which involves extensive infrastructure upgrades. Jacobs' responsibilities include feasibility studies, design services for major projects, water and wastewater network modeling, and support for climate adaptation and net-zero initiatives. The framework is initially set for four years, with an option to extend for an additional four years.
“Jacobs continues to support Northern Ireland Water with major infrastructure upgrades that improve the capacity and efficiency of critical water and wastewater services,” said Jacobs Senior Vice President Kate Kenny. “With this new framework, we’ll bring capabilities to help Northern Ireland Water increase the resilience of their water and wastewater assets while mitigating the effects of climate change.”
Jacobs works with clients across Ireland in a range of sectors, including Advanced Manufacturing, Cities & Places, Energy, Environmental, Life Sciences, Transportation, and Water.
From drinking water treatment to water reuse and resource recovery, Jacobs brings extensive global water expertise to support projects such as Uisce Éireann’s strategic water services planning and engineering design in Ireland, United Utilities’ major capital investment program in the U.K., and the King County South Treatment Plant in Washington State, U.S.
