Fugro acquires EOMAP, adding unique satellite analytics to its water market solutions
EOMAP has been at the forefront of Earth Observation (EO) technology since 2006, holding multiple patented algorithms. The demand for EO solutions continues to grow, driven by stricter environmental regulations, the need to mitigate climate change impacts, and the increasing recognition of marine ecosystems' crucial role in global sustainability.
Over the years, EOMAP has played a key role in Fugro’s climate adaptation and nature conservation projects, including the ISPRA Seagrass Coastal Restoration initiative, where Fugro is mapping Italy’s entire coastline. The two companies also collaborated on the COASTS project, which enhances the integration of coastal process data and blue carbon ecosystem modeling, with pilot programs in Europe and the Maldives.
Robert Hoddenbach, Fugro’s Global Director of Climate & Nature, stated, "This acquisition is a significant step forward, strengthening our capabilities in the water sector and enabling us to better support clients with satellite EO technology. We are pleased to welcome the EOMAP team to Fugro."
Thomas Heege, Managing Director of EOMAP, added, "We are excited to join forces with Fugro, a company that shares our values and commitment to utilizing advanced technologies for a safer and more sustainable world. Together, we will deliver unmatched value to clients and address critical global challenges in the aquatic environment."
EOMAP reported a revenue of approximately €5 million in 2024.
