Bahrain: TotalEnergies and Bapco Energies Launch BxT Trading, a New Player in the Trading of Petroleum Products in the Middle East

TotalEnergies and Bapco Energies have announced the launch of BxT Trading, a 50:50 trading joint venture supported by product flows from Bapco Energies’ refinery. The signing ceremony was witnessed by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King of Bahrain for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs and Chairman of Bapco Energies, alongside Patrick Pouyanné, Chairman and CEO of TotalEnergies, in Abu Dhabi.

Positioned as a new competitive trading entity in the Middle East, BxT Trading will contribute to strengthening Bahrain’s oil industry by optimizing value from Bapco Energies’ downstream assets and expanding access to global markets. The partnership will enable Bapco Energies to leverage TotalEnergies’ global trading expertise while developing advanced capabilities in trading, pricing, market analysis, and risk management.

Through BxT Trading, TotalEnergies further reinforces its trading presence in the Middle East, complementing its existing operations and international trading hubs in Houston, Geneva, and Singapore. This initiative enhances the agility and responsiveness of its trading teams, while deepening local engagement to better serve regional market dynamics.
