Baker Hughes Lands Largest Integrated Compressor Line Order in Company’s History

Baker Hughes, an energy technology company, announced on Tuesday its largest order to date for Integrated Compressor Line (ICL) units from Dubai Petroleum Establishment (DPE), acting on behalf of Dubai Supply Authority (DUSUP). This order aims to enhance the reliability of energy supply and support local decarbonization efforts, having been recorded in the third quarter of 2024.

The order consists of ten ICL units—five designated for gas storage and five for dual-use injection boosting or gas export to the existing gas distribution system. These units will be installed at the Margham Gas storage facility in Dubai, significantly increasing its capacity. The project aims to implement ICL technology to achieve a highly reliable system with reduced emissions, enhancing the stability of Dubai’s energy supply by improving the system's ability to switch between natural gas and solar power.

DPE's decision to continue its collaboration with Baker Hughes follows the successful operation of three ICL units since 2020, showcasing the performance and reliability of the installed technology. With zero seal leakages and minimal maintenance downtime, Baker Hughes’ ICL technology is becoming a preferred choice in the market. This latest award from DPE adds to the positive order momentum for this technology, which has also seen awards for various applications in projects across Italy, Germany, Argentina, and the United States.
