Argent LNG Selects Baker Hughes as Technology Provider, Strengthening Project

Argent LNG LLC (Argent LNG) has selected Baker Hughes, a leading energy technology company, as the provider of liquefaction solutions and related services for its planned LNG export facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana. Under this collaboration, Baker Hughes will supply state-of-the-art liquefaction systems, power generation equipment, and gas compression technology to support the facility’s projected annual output of approximately 24 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of LNG. The announcement was made at Baker Hughes’ Annual Meeting in Florence.

The project will incorporate Baker Hughes’ advanced NMBL™ modularized LNG solution, powered by the highly efficient LM9000 gas turbine. These pre-fabricated and pre-tested modules will ensure scalable and reliable LNG production, integrating iCenter™ digital solutions powered by Cordant™ to enhance availability, reliability, and operational efficiency. Additionally, Baker Hughes will provide LM9000-driven power generation units and multi-year services to support Argent LNG’s terminal operations.

By leveraging its extensive LNG expertise, Baker Hughes aims to optimize project execution with a cost-effective, streamlined design, enabling Argent LNG to advance with greater efficiency and financial certainty.

“This announcement reinforces the technological leadership we have built over three decades in LNG,” said Lorenzo Simonelli, chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes. “Our collaboration with Argent LNG reflects our commitment to delivering innovative, best-in-class LNG solutions. As global energy demand rises, we remain dedicated to providing advanced technology for reliable and affordable energy supply worldwide.”

Jonathan Bass, chairman and CEO of Argent LNG, highlighted the strategic importance of the partnership: “We selected Baker Hughes for its proven technology, strong LNG market presence, and commitment to innovation—aligning seamlessly with Argent LNG’s vision for transformative energy solutions. This collaboration strengthens our technical capabilities, enhances cost efficiency, and boosts project bankability by leveraging Baker Hughes’ industry leadership. Today’s announcement underscores how innovation and collaboration can drive progress in the LNG sector, ensuring affordable and sustainable energy for global markets.”

Phase 1 construction is set to commence in 2026, with commercial operations expected by 2030. Meanwhile, Phase 2—aimed at further capacity expansion—is progressing through key milestones, including resource assessments, FERC approvals, gas supply agreements, and financial closure.

Baker Hughes anticipates receiving orders linked to this agreement as the Argent LNG project advances toward Final Investment Decision (FID), solidifying its pivotal role in the project's long-term success.
